How to keep your skin safe during PRIDE month

It's that time of year again, PRIDE month! Here in Tampa, Pride is a huge event. We hold craft fairs and parades in both Tampa and St. Pete. With all of this running around inside and outside for hours of fun and festivals how do we keep our skin and our little one's skin safe?
1) Wear an SPF of 30 or higher. The Tampa sun can be brutal especially on hot summer days. Yesterday at St. Pete Pride it got up to 99*, ouch! Make sure you apply a Mineral (Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide) SPF or 30 or higher 20 minutes before you head out in to the sun. Don't forget to reapply every couple of hours for both lighter and darker skin types to ensure you don't get a sun burn.
2) Wear a hat and glasses! Hats especially hats with UV protection in them keep those harmful rays off of your face. Helping to avoid sun burns, skin cancer, brown spots, and wrinkles.
3)Take a break! Find a nice shady spot and relax for a little bit. Grab a beer at a local gay friendly bar in St. Pete and borrow their AC for a little bit too. That will keep your skin cool and give you a break from the sun.
4) Vitamin C! When you get home apply Vitamin C, it's a great anti oxidant that helps repair your skin from environmental damage caused during the day.
Wishing lots of love and joy to all of those around the world celebrating PRIDE this month!
